Fintro Hockey World League Semi-Final Antwerp, Belgium
The first edition of the hockey World League was played in 2012 / 2013 and is played every two years. A competition in its own right, the World League also acts as a qualification event for the Olympic Games and World Cup in alternate years.

The 2015 World League Semi Final is a qualifier for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Three guaranteed places for Rio will be available to both the ten men’s and ten women’s teams competing in this Semi Final leg in Belgium. Another three places are up for grabs from each of the other World League Semi Final events in Valencia (women) and Buenos Aires (men).

In both the men’s and women’s event, the ten teams making up the pools are a mixture of automatic qualifiers courtesy of their world rankings [at the time of entry], the hosts and the teams who join via their qualification success in round two of the Hockey World League.
