Biography

Growing up  in Melbourne with hockey the family sport of choice, Glenn Simpson made Greensborough Hockey Club his home away from home at the age of six. He credits Greensborough coach Jim Irvine for being a big influence on his hockey career.

A fully qualified electrician, Glenn ‘Simmo’ Simpson finished his apprenticeship in Melbourne in 2006, starting full time work with Melbourne based company Prime Electrics before moving to Perth to join the squad in 2009.

The team’s adventurer, Simmo likes to enjoy the great outdoors as much as possible. Enjoying spending time away camping or taking road trips down the coast he also enjoys any water activity. An American sports fan - in particular NBA, NFL and ice hockey - He often spends his spare time catching up on his favourite sports.

2014 was a difficult year for Simpson, who broke his ankle a week before the World Cup, ultimately missing out on the Kookaburras' successful World Cup and Commonwealth Games campaigns.
