Everything you need to know about the FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup 2022 and the Hockeyroos’ quest to win the tournament.

The 15th edition of the FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup is being held in Spain & the Netherlands from 1-17 July 2022.

Featuring the world’s best female hockey nations, the Hockeyroos are attempting to win the prestigious tournament for the third time.

Teams

Venues
The two venues for the tournament are the Terrassa Olympic Stadium in Spain (where the Hockeyroos will play all three of their Pool matches) and Wagener Stadium in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Where will the matches be broadcast in Australia?
Every match of the FIH Women’s World Cup 2022, including all Hockeyroos matches, will be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports and/or Kayo.

How does the Knockout Stage and Crossover Phase work?
The competition formula of the tournament is divided up into three phases plus Quarter Finals and Medal Matches.
Phase 1 (1-7 July) comprises all Pool matches.
The top team from each pool advances to the Quarter Finals.
The 2nd and 3rd ranked teams from each pool progress to the crossover matches.
The 4th ranked team from each pool advances to the classification matches.

Phase 2 (9-11 July) comprises crossover matches and classification matches.
Phase 3 (12-13 July) comprises the final classification matches for minor placings and the Quarter Finals. For the Quarter Finals, two will be played in Terrassa and two in Amsterdam.
The Semi Finals will take place on 16 July with the Final on 17 July. Both Semi Finals and the Final will be played in Terrassa.
