Men's Masters Return to Hockey Invitational

Published Thu 09 Dec 2021

The Hockey Australia Masters Committee is pleased to provide confirmation of details for the Men's Return to Hockey Invitational event in Sydney.

Both events to be held at Sydney Olympic Park with overflow turfs booked at Sydney University, Cumberland Campus – Lidcombe and Cintra Hockey Complex, Concord, should they be required. Both fields are only 6 kilometres from Sydney Olympic Park.

Dates
34’s, 40’s, 45’s, 50’s and 55’s  (Friday 25, Saturday 26, Sunday 27 February 2022)
60’s, 65’s, 70’s and 75’s (Friday 18, Saturday 19, Sunday 20 March 2022)

Teams
The first option was provided to HAMC states via the State Delegates providing opportunities to players to play under their state flag. This also enables state uniforms to be worn. In the instance that a state will be fielding multiple teams in an age division, ‘best endeavours’ will be used to selected teams of equal playing ability.

There will be the option for teams to be entered if the state body has chosen not to organise teams.

Finally, in the true intent of a ‘return to hockey’ event individuals can register and be placed within a team when states are not in position to field a complete team or if there are surplus players that miss out on being placed in a team.
