Featured Speakers
Andrew Smith
Former Kookaburra and Olympic, World Cup, and Champions Trophy medallist - as well as a Hockey One champion with HC Melbourne. Andrew will explore the power of positivity, building culture, developing strong relationships, and creating a lasting legacy.
Bevan Nichol
An FIH umpire and former Development Manager at Waikato Hockey, he now leads WILSS’ Sport Coaching and Youth Volunteering programs, specialising in coach development and facilitation. With qualifications in sport and human performance, environmental planning, and tertiary and adult education, Bevan offers practical insights into developing coaches, volunteers, and pathways across all levels of the game.
Jane Claxton
Triple Olympian and one of the most capped Hockeyroos of all time with 250 appearances. Jane brings deep experience and insight as she discusses transitioning from athlete to coach, stepping into leadership roles, and shaping the next generation.
Mark Hager
Former Kookaburras captain and Olympic bronze medallist Mark Hager brings decades of international experience to the conference. Now Head Coach of the Kookaburras, he has led successful programs across Australia, New Zealand, and Great Britain, achieving Olympic and Commonwealth Games success, World Cup podiums, and a reputation for building high-performing teams.
