2024 National Women’s Development Squad announced

Published Wed 13 Dec 2023

Spots will remain up for grabs next year with 20 talented players named in the 2024 National Women’s Development Squad.

In what will be a huge year for hockey, headlined by the Olympic Games in Paris, the Development squad will provide crucial depth to the Hockeyroos 2024 squad announced last week.

Alice Arnott and Maddison Brooks, who were named in the 2023 Development squad, earned a call up to the Hockeyroos this year, and have both since been named in the national squad for 2024. Ten other players named in the 2023 Development squad have been retained for next year.

Many of the athletes named in the Development squad had standout performances in this year’s JDH Hockey One League, including Evie Dalton who joins the Development Squad for the first time following an impressive showing in goal for the Tassie Tigers, and Dayle Dolkens who scored in her Brisbane Blaze team’s successful Grand Final win.

The 2024 line-up features several budding players from across the country, with seven from Queensland, five from NSW, four from WA, three from Victoria and one from Tasmania.

The National Development Squad (NDS) athletes train at their home National Training Centre (NTC) under guidance of their NAPP coaches. Athletes in this squad may be invited to Perth to train with the Hockeyroos as part of Visiting Athlete Agreements (VAA).
