Hockeyroos gear up for Pro League and World Cup with India and USA warm-up matches
The Hockeyroos step up preparations with key warm-up matches against India and the USA ahead of Pro League and the 2026 World Cup.

The Hockeyroos are set to ramp up their preparations for a pivotal international campaign, with a series of high-quality warm-up matches against India and the United States providing the perfect launchpad towards the FIH Pro League and the 2026 FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup.
Facing two dynamic international opponents, the upcoming fixtures present a crucial opportunity for Australia to sharpen combinations, build momentum and test themselves against contrasting styles ahead of a demanding global schedule.
Both nations provide strong challenges as the Hockeyroos continue to fine-tune their game ahead of Pro League action and their World Cup campaign in August.
Head Coach Rhett Halkett said the matches would play an important role in shaping the group’s readiness for the months ahead.
“These matches are exactly what we need at this stage of our preparation,” Halkett said.
“India and the USWNT bring different strengths and styles of hockey, which will challenge our group in different ways. It’s a great opportunity for us to continue developing our match intelligence, executing our systems under pressure, and taking the next step forward as a team.”
With the Hockeyroos continuing to evolve and develop their squad, these eight matches offer valuable international exposure for emerging athletes alongside experienced leaders, as the group builds towards the sport’s biggest stage.
“There’s real excitement within the group about what’s ahead,” Halkett said.
“We’ve got a strong focus on executing our way of play, and these matches are an important piece of the puzzle as we build towards Pro League and ultimately the World Cup. It’s about making sure we’re prepared to perform when it matters most.”
The Hockeyroos will take confidence from their recent World Cup qualification campaign and will be looking to carry that momentum into the upcoming fixtures, as they continue their journey towards competing with the world’s best in 2026.
With Pro League action and the World Cup on the horizon, the stage is set for an exciting period for the Hockeyroos as they look to make their mark on the international stage.
All matches will be played at Perth Hockey Stadium, with free entry for fans. Every game will also be streamed live and free via LiveHockey.com.au, giving supporters around the country the opportunity to follow the Hockeyroos’ preparations ahead of a massive second half of the year.
