Kookaburras gain SportsLink Travel support for Oceania Cup

Published Wed 09 Aug 2023

Respected sports travel agency SportsLink Travel has teamed up with the Kookaburras for the Oceania Cup that starts tomorrow in New Zealand.

SportsLink Travel will be the Kookaburras’ ‘front of shirt’ sponsor as part of a one-off branding alignment for the three-match series against the Black Sticks.

The Oceania Cup is the first opportunity for the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Hockey Australia CEO David Pryles said securing the support of SportsLink Travel on the front of the Kookaburras playing shirt was a significant ‘win’ before the action on the pitch takes centre stage.

“SportsLink Travel has had a considerable association with hockey in Australia over the years and shares similar values in wanting to see the sport grow,” said Pryles.

“It is great to have the company involved again with this association to the Kookaburras at the Oceania Cup.”

“SportsLink Travel has offices in Australia and New Zealand, making the Oceania Cup an ideal opportunity to raise awareness of its brand and the breadth of the tours and services it provides.”

“We thank Paul Kelly and the team for recognising the value of being on the front of the Kookaburras playing shirts across the three-match series.”

SportsLink Travel specialise in Sports Tours including Group Travel.

SportsLink CEO Paul Kelly added, "Hockey was the first sport that SportsLink Travel ran a tour for in 2002 which was the Men's World Cup, and subsequently Hockey Australia was the first organisation SportsLink Travel sponsored in 2005.”

“After 20+ years of being involved and seeing the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos at various Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Cups and other events, we are extremely excited and proud to be managing their entire travel program as well as providing tour opportunities for family, friends and supporters to see them play around the world."

The Oceania Cup will be played on 10, 12, 13 August in Whangarei, New Zealand. The matches will be shown in Australia LIVE and free on 7plus.
