Five-time Olympian and 2024 Paris Olympic Games flag bearer Eddie Ockenden adds another accolade to his growing list of accomplishments at the Olympics notching his 450th game for the Kookaburras in their final pool match.

The milestone makes him the second most capped player in international hockey behind John-John Dohmen from Belgium who stands on 479.

But don’t go shining the spotlight on the understated Tasmanian who joined Jessica Fox as the Australian Flag Bearer at the Opening Ceremony.

Instead, their match against Asian powerhouse India is about the team, not himself, and building for the playoffs.

Australia are looking for their third win of the rounds after defeating Argentina, Ireland and New Zealand.

They lost one game to defending Olympic champion Belgium; the side who defeated them in a penalty shoot out for the gold medal at the Tokyo Games.

India has played consistently throughout the tournament securing two wins, a draw and a loss.
