Australian hockey fans will be able to watch the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos compete at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup live and free on 7plus, marking the first time Australia’s matches at hockey’s biggest tournament will be available on a free streaming platform.

Every Kookaburras and Hockeyroos match from the World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands will be streamed live and free on 7plus, bringing Australia’s pursuit of World Cup glory to fans across the country.

Replays of Australia’s matches will also be broadcast on 7mate, giving fans another opportunity to watch the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras throughout the tournament.

The historic broadcast milestone ensures Australian supporters will have free access to every moment of the national teams’ World Cup campaigns, with the Hockeyroos chasing a third World Cup title and the Kookaburras aiming to secure their fourth.

The announcement represents another significant step forward in Hockey Australia’s commitment to making the sport more accessible and growing the game’s audience.

Hockey Australia Acting Chief Executive Officer David Thompson said the agreement would provide Australian hockey with unprecedented visibility during one of the sport’s premier international events.

“Having Australia’s matches at the FIH Hockey World Cup available live and free on 7plus for the first time is a landmark moment for our sport,” Thompson said.

“The World Cup is one of the biggest events on the international hockey calendar, and ensuring every Australian can watch the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras compete without a paywall is incredibly important.

“With every Australian match also replayed on 7mate, fans will have even more opportunities to follow our national teams and be part of their World Cup campaigns.

“This is about giving more Australians the opportunity to connect with our teams, inspiring the next generation of players and continuing to build the profile of hockey across the country.”
