Accessibility Champion Course

The Accessibility Champion Course is designed to introduce the principles of accessibility to community sporting clubs, paving the way for increased participation for people with disability. The course provides a foundational understanding of disability, designed to increase confidence to talk about disability and include people with disability in local clubs, programs and activities.

Disability Inclusion formats of hockey

Walking Hockey is a modified version of traditional hockey, where participants can only walk. The 5-a-side game is also modified with a softer ball, smaller field and simpler rules to increase engagement and enjoyment of the game.

Inclusive Hookin2Hockey or All Abilities Hockey is a format based on the FIH’s Hockey ID. This can be modified to suit all participants.

FIH's Hockey ID is a complementary version of the sport for participants with an Intellectual Disability. Hockey Australia encourages the use of these rules in any modified hockey format for people with disability.
