Lauren Watt (Chief Operating Officer)

Lauren is a passionate Sports Executive and qualified Chartered Accountant with 18 years’ experience working as a finance professional, with a passion for professional and community sport. With a background in external audit and consulting at big 4 firm Ernst & Young, Lauren has undertaken a stint of global work experience in London and held a senior finance role at the Geelong Football Club prior to joining Hockey Australia.

Lauren is an active member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, AICD and AHRI and is currently completing a Masters in Human Resources at Deakin University. Lauren has also previously held non-executive Board positions at the Barwon Community Legal Service and at the 000 Foundation.

Lauren is highly self-motivated and committed to excellence at work, setting high personal expectations and work standards for herself and her team. Over her career, Lauren has played a significant role in improving NFP governance, internal procedures and compliance, implementing technology and driving financial accountability and cost reduction. Lauren has also invested heavily into building collaborative networks across the sporting industry.

Outside of her professional career, Lauren enjoys watching and participating in sport, spending time with her family and organising her next overseas adventure.
