Gold Coast product Corey Weyer, who is affectionately known as Wiz, is another young player who debuted for the Kookaburras in late 2017 against New Zealand at the International Festival of Hockey in Bendigo.
The blonde-locked defender was part of the Queensland side which reached the 2017 Australian Hockey League where his displays earned him his maiden international call-up. Weyer’s career highlights include the 2014 Youth Olympics gold medal.
Weyer, who hails from Labrador Hockey Club, is a keen golfer who cites former Kookaburra Brent Livermore as his childhood hero.
